Hello Everyone:
Several of our recent events have featured our DVD gallery show, where the work of a talented artist is displayed on several screens. On Friday, July 24th from 6-10PM, we'll be doing so again, with the help of celebrity pet photographer Jim Dratfield!
The Location: Taj, 48 West 21st Street Between 5th and 6th Avenues.
Jim Dratfield's Petography® specializes in fine art photography of pets and people with their pets. Jim has done photo commissions for the likes of Jennifer Aniston, Charlize Theron, Bebe Neuwirth, Henry Kissinger, Billy Joel and Elton John to name a few. Jim is the author of nine books and his tenth book Pugnation: The Bark is Back!, comes out in October. His work has been featured on ABC's 20/20, The View, Oprah's O. Magazine, Instyle and Town & Country.
In addition, we will use this opportunity to raise money for a worthy cause, "Friends of Animal Rescue." They are a group that provides much needed funding to help NYC rescuers remove animals from death row at city shelters. They support rescuers with funds for medical treatment and help save precious animal lives by finding them forever homes. As an animal lover I can't think of a group more deserving of our help!
As you know, admission will be free. However, on hand to help with our fund raising efforts will be the elegant and glamorous ladies of TOW (Tall Outstanding Women) who will be present all night long selling raffle tickets. Minimum height requirement for group members: 6 feet!
Prizes include: Books autographed by Jim Dratfield himself, as well as others soon to be announced!
As usual, with our monthly wine tastings, specially selected wines will be sold for the discounted price of $7 a glass.
Also, from 7-9 PM you'll enjoy complementary cocktails courtesy of Malibu rum!
To round out the evening, Nigel Hunt and his associates will be offering free chair massages from 6-10PM. Nigel has been a hit at many of my recent events; you will find him on Taj's balcony.
