How Weights Can Help You Lose Some Weight.
For anyone who is trying to lose some bodyfat weight training is a great way to go. For every pound of muscle you build you burn about 50 extra calories per day just carrying it around. This is due to the high concentration of mitochondria, tiny fat burning engines that are present in each muscle cell. As a result 10 extra pounds of muscle evenly distributed throughout your body creates a 500 calorie per day deficit. Since a pound of fat has 3500 calories that would enable you to lose about a pound a week without changing your eating habits.
